Designer Series: Exploring Interior Design with Brianna of Sand and Spruce Interiors
As the year concludes, we’re reminded to reflect on the significance of our home life. Meet our next designer, Brianna Gallagher, principal designer at Sand and Spruce Interiors. Her motto, "bringing the outdoors in," is reflected in her love for the ocean and laid-back approach. Brianna's easygoing style encourages us to embrace the process of dressing our home space, fitting it to our lifestyle.
After completing high school and during junior college, Brianna discovered a passion for architecture, culture, and geography through her travels. This led her to pursue a degree at the Interior Design Institute in Newport Beach, California. Brianna's career kicked off in San Juan Capistrano at a residential firm, followed by stints in commercial design across Orange County and Los Angeles.
A few years after becoming a parent, Brianna's entrepreneurial spirit took over, resulting in the establishment of her independent interior design business. Over the years, she has undertaken various residential, vacation rental, and commercial projects along the scenic coast of San Diego.
The Plan
To achieve both designs, the following two products were styled using a blend of in-store furniture accents, studio props, and Brianna’s own accent pieces.
Room #1: Cozy Neutral Textures
The Result:
The inspiration behind a recent bedroom design by Brianna was to create a cozy atmosphere with neutral textures. The versatile gray Melbourne Canopy Bed emerged as a standout choice, allowing for diverse styling options.
Brianna's natural inclination towards neutral and organic elements is reflected in her design style. Incorporating various textures and organic colors is a common thread. The mission of Sand and Spruce Interiors, centered on "bringing the outside in," aligns seamlessly with Brianna's design philosophy. Achieving this involves maximizing natural light, opening up spaces with expansive windows and doors, and introducing an abundance of plant life.
Room #2: Stylish and Functional
For a living room that seamlessly blends style with functionality, Brianna emphasizes the importance of art and accessories. Introducing an accent chair not only enhances the overall aesthetic but also provides additional seating. A favored selection for one of the projects was the Abinger Sofa Chaise Sectional, known for its appealing texture, color, and generous seating capacity.
Brianna's approach to projects prioritizes function and comfort, with a focus on creating spaces that not only look aesthetically pleasing but also cater to the practical needs of the inhabitants.
